Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplastika Latvijā
Abdominoplasty, also known as tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen while strengthening the muscles of the abdominal wall.
It is a popular cosmetic procedure for people who have lost a lot of weight, for women who have given birth, for people who have excess skin and fat in the abdominal area due to ageing or genetics.

Abdominoplasty is often an option after childbirth, especially multiple births, and for people who have experienced significant weight loss. Surgery is also recommended after liposuction and other surgical interventions, including C-section, when a significant amount of fat has been removed and a lot of excess skin appears on the abdomen. There are several variations of abdominoplasty, including:

• Mini abdominoplasty
• Extended abdominoplasty
• Circumferential abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is usually performed under general anaesthetic and can take several hours depending on the extent of the procedure. Recovery time varies depending on the extent of the operation and the patient's general health, but most people can return to work and light activities within two to four weeks. Heavy exercise and any heavy strain should be avoided for six to eight weeks after surgery.
